Vision

All students will become life-long learners

Welcome to a Power School.

We are looking forward to an exciting year in Power School and would like to share some of the changes we have made with you.

PowerSchool is a collaboration between GUSD and Community Based Organization partners that bring their own unique area of expertise to Power School students every day.  We are very happy to have the YMCA and Cal-SOAP continue as Power School partners and we’d like to welcome a new partner, Youth Alliance!!

Every day Power School offers a healthy snack, support with homework, an academic component to support school day learning, recreation time to encourage a healthy physically active lifestyle, and an enrichment program. We are lucky enough to be able to utilize CASA de Milagros, a Visual and Performing Arts curriculum created by the Youth Alliance.

Many of the Power School sites will also incorporate Clubs as a rotation of student chosen enrichment activities.  Las Animas 4thgraders will be participating in the Santa Clara County Parks Jr. Rangers Program at Coyote Lake County Park.

We look forward to another great year and we know the 2011-12 school year is going to be a BLAST!

Listen to the mustn`ts, child. Listen to the don`ts. Listen to the shouldn`ts, the impossibles, the won`ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.
