District Employee Recognition Program

Program Overview

The goal of the Gilroy Unified School District Employee Recognition Program is to recognize the valuable contributions of District employees to its students, schools and community.

Each school year, twelve employees from management and each of the District’s three bargaining units (GTA, CSEA, GFP) will be recognized which will comprise one employee from each of the following areas – certificated, classified, paraeducator and management.

Nomination submissions and award recognition will occur in the following months:

  • October Recognition (Nomination period – September)

  • January Recognition (Nomination period – December)

  • April Recognition (Nomination period – March)

Eligibility

  1. All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for nomination.

  2. Nominated employees shall be in good standing.

  3. Recognition recipients will be eligible to be conferred with the honor again after five years.

Nominations

  • All employees may nominate another employee for recognition.

  • Nomination submissions are available through an online fillable form located to the right of this page.

Review Committee

Members of the committee will review the nominations and submit the finalist to the Cabinet for final selection.

The committee is comprised of the following:

  • A member from the District Office 

  • A principal or assistant principal

  • Three District-wide staff members consisting of one certificated, one classified and one paraeducator

Recipient Recognition

Recipients will be invited to a Board meeting where they will be recognized and presented with their recognition award. Family, friends and colleagues are invited and encouraged to attend the special recognition.
